When the cul-de-sac turns deadly, can you unmask the killer before the barbecue coals go cold?
The story
The Elm Street Block Party has always been a showcase of neighborhood camaraderie, but this year, the festivities are cut short by a shocking discovery: Bartholomew 'Gus' Grumbles, the perpetually cantankerous resident, has been found dead in his backyard. As the party grinds to a halt, suspicion falls on Gus's neighbors, each with their own peculiar traits, secrets, and potential grievances against the victim. With Gus known for his constant meddling and vocal disapproval of nearly everyone on the block, the list of suspects is long, and the motives are plentiful. Was it revenge for a past slight, a dispute over property lines, or a desperate attempt to silence Gus before he exposed a damaging secret? Guests must mingle, interrogate, and uncover clues to piece together the events that led to Gus's untimely demise and unmask the killer lurking among them.

Questions
What kind of vibe can guests expect from this comedy-themed murder mystery dinner party game?
You can expect a hilarious, high-energy atmosphere! While the victim, Gus Grumbles, has definitely met a sticky end, the game leans heavily into pop culture humor and neighborhood drama. From Brenda 'Bingo' Chen's secret gambling ring to the absurdity of Chad Chisel's 'stolen' lawn art, the characters are designed for lighthearted, witty roleplay that keeps the tone fun and engaging—perfect for an interactive murder mystery dinner party game.
Why should I choose 'Block Party Bedlam' over other murder mysteries party games for my event?
If you want a memorable event, 'Block Party Bedlam' offers a unique 'cul-de-sac' setting that bridges the gap between a cozy backyard gathering and a high-stakes crime scene. Unlike many static room-based murder mysteries party games, this script creates an immersive social dynamic where guests can mingle freely, mirroring the real-life flow of a summer party. It provides the perfect balance of deep, scandalous secrets and a relatable, modern-day backdrop that will keep your guests talking long after the barbecue coals go cold.
Is 'Block Party Bedlam' a good choice for first-time hosts planning a murder mystery party game?
Absolutely! 'Block Party Bedlam' is a fantastic entry point into the world of murder mystery party games. Because the setting is a familiar, vibrant neighborhood block party, it is incredibly easy to decorate—just use standard summer party supplies, outdoor string lights, and a karaoke machine. The scenario for 6 players is streamlined and intuitive, allowing even a novice host to focus on the fun of the investigation rather than complex mechanics.
How many people can play?
6 to 14 players. The 6 main characters are included for $29.95; add up to 8 more at $7.00 each ($43.95 for 8, $71.95 for 12, $85.95 for 14).
Can a large group play?
Yes. In large group mode some guests play the characters and everyone else joins detective teams, up to 200 people. Large group mode comes with a Non-profit or Business license.
Do I need to print anything?
No. Guests get their characters and clues on their phones, and the host runs each round, the accusations and the reveal from the Game Room, with narrator audio and a TV mode. A printable kit is included if you prefer paper.
How long does the game take?
About 2–3 hours, played over several rounds, usually alongside dinner or drinks.
How soon can I start?
Straight away. The game appears in My Games right after checkout, where you can send invitations and assign characters.
