Murder mystery events for 15–200 guests

Every Host-Party mystery can run a big event. A few people play the suspects, and every other guest becomes a detective, alone or in a team, investigating on their phone. Up to 200 detectives can play, and the host runs the whole night from the Game Room.

How a big murder mystery event plays

  1. Pick an Event Edition game

Choose a mystery and the license that fits your group. The game appears in My Games right after checkout.

  2. Cast the suspects

6 to 14 people play the characters: volunteers, staff or actors. Each gets their character page, costume idea and secrets.

  3. Share one link with everyone else

Turn on Large group mode and send one join link. Guests join as detectives, form teams and see the clues on their phones as each round is revealed.

  4. Accuse and reveal

Each detective or team makes one accusation. The host plays the reveal on the big screen and the winning team takes the glory.

Questions from event planners

How many people can play?

Up to 200 detectives, plus 6 to 14 people playing the suspects. For 14 guests or fewer, everyone can play a character with the regular game.

Which license do I need?

Non-profit for registered nonprofits, schools and churches. Business for companies and organizations hosting their own people, including free events. For-profit when guests pay or you run the event for a client; it comes with a custom game.

Do guests need to download anything?

No. Detectives join from a link in their phone browser. The host runs rounds, clues and the reveal from the Game Room, on a laptop or a TV.

Do we need actors?

No. Most groups cast volunteers or staff as the suspects; each gets everything they need to play. Venues often use their own cast.

I already own a game with a Personal license. Can I use it for an event?

Yes. Open the game in My Games and upgrade its license; you pay only the difference.

I run events for customers. Is there help with scheduling and staff?

Yes. Host-Party Pro is a free portal for venues and planners: book events, assign your Game Master, cast and crew, and send them reminders.
