The story
Count Alessandro Valerius was found murdered with a silk mask ribbon. He was reportedly on the verge of auctioning off a legendary mechanical nightingale. The suspects include his rivals, debtors, and those he had wronged. The killer used the chaos of the masquerade to corner the Count, but left behind subtle clues that link the crime to a specific motive of revenge and theft.
Setting: The grand, decaying Palazzo Malipiero in Venice, Italy, during the 1782 Carnival season. The action spans the Great Ballroom, the Garden of Whispers, and the dimly lit Gondola Storage Room.
