The story
On the eve of the Silver Spur's anniversary, Silas 'Snake-Eyes' Sterling was set to sign a deal that would effectively own the entire town. As the clock struck midnight, the saloon's chandelier crashed, plunging the room into darkness. A single thud followed. When light returned, Silas remained in his chair, a glass of whiskey in hand, but his eyes were vacant. No bullet wounds, no visible struggle—just a room full of people who each owed Silas a debt they couldn't pay. Now, the doors are barred, and the truth must be unearthed before the morning stagecoach arrives.
Setting: The Silver Spur Saloon in Dusty Gulch, a burgeoning frontier town during the height of the gold rush. The room features a poker table, a piano, and a floor plan that includes a back alley exit and a hidden basement cellar.

Questions
Do I need special props or a large venue to host this murder mystery dinner party game?
No complex setup is required! While the 'Showdown at Dusty Gulch' murder mystery party kit describes a saloon with a poker table, piano, and hidden cellar, these elements are woven into the script and clues to build an immersive murder mystery game in any space. This murder mystery dinner party is designed for 6 players, making it ideal for an intimate home setting. Simply follow the guide to manage witnessed clues like the smell of bitter almonds or the blue varnish on the playing cards.
What makes 'Showdown at Dusty Gulch' unique for an adult murder mystery party?
This murder mystery game transports your guests to the high-stakes Silver Spur Saloon during the height of the gold rush. Unlike a generic mystery party, this historical thriller centers on a tight-knit group of 6 complex characters, from the sharpshooting Lorelei Lariat to the disgraced Doc Barnaby Bones. It offers a gritty atmosphere where every player has 'sordid details' to hide, making it one of the best murder mystery games for groups that enjoy deep roleplay and immersive storytelling.
How difficult is it to host this adult murder mystery if I've never run a murder game before?
This murder mystery party theme is exceptionally host-friendly. The kit provides clear exoneration facts—like the mechanical failure of the chandelier—to help you guide the investigation without giving away the killer's identity too early. Each character, such as the undercover Pinkerton agent Wyatt West or the runaway socialite Pearl Parker, has a distinct voice and motivation. This makes it an easy yet compelling adult murder mystery game for first-time hosts looking to provide a memorable, high-quality experience.
How many people can play?
6 to 14 players. The 6 main characters are included for $29.95; add up to 8 more at $7.00 each ($43.95 for 8, $71.95 for 12, $85.95 for 14).
Can a large group play?
Yes. In large group mode some guests play the characters and everyone else joins detective teams, up to 200 people. Large group mode comes with a Non-profit or Business license.
Do I need to print anything?
No. Guests get their characters and clues on their phones, and the host runs each round, the accusations and the reveal from the Game Room, with narrator audio and a TV mode. A printable kit is included if you prefer paper.
How long does the game take?
About 2–3 hours, played over several rounds, usually alongside dinner or drinks.
How soon can I start?
Straight away. The game appears in My Games right after checkout, where you can send invitations and assign characters.
