The story
Senator Sal Ami was the ultimate political fixer, but he was also a blackmailer. He had compiled a 'Burn Folder' containing the most embarrassing secrets of every attendee. Before he could hand it over to the press, he was lured into the pantry and shoved into a massive vat of boiling maple syrup. The briefcase is missing, the security cameras were covered with duct tape, and the only witnesses are a group of rivals who would all benefit from his silence.
Setting: The Grand Ballroom and adjoining Pancake Buffet of the Gilded Golf Resort & Spa, an ostentatiously gold-plated hotel in a neutral territory with questionable tax laws.
