Unmask the killer before the clock strikes thirteen!
The story
On a night where everyone wears a mask, the deadliest face is the one you can't see. Billionaire Silas Vane invited six unique guests to his secluded manor for a night of horror and mystery, only to become the center of a real-life murder. As the storm rages outside, cutting off all communication, the guests must investigate the labyrinthine estate and each other's hidden pasts. Why was the victim obsessed with poisonous plants? What happened to the family fortune? Every corridor holds a clue, and every guest has a motive to see 'The Scarecrow' silenced forever. It’s a race against time to reveal the truth behind the mask.
Setting: A sprawling, Victorian-style Gothic mansion perched on a cliffside, filled with secret passages, cobweb-covered libraries, and a grand ballroom decorated for a lavish Halloween party.

- Alphonse 'The Alchemist' Aris, The Fraudulent Medium: Alphonse is the go-to mystic for the bored rich. He is charming, soothing, and has an uncanny knack for telling people exactly what they want to hear. Most…
- Ramona 'Raven' Reyes, The Gothic Pop-Star: Ramona is the 'bad girl' of the music charts. Her fans adore her nihilistic attitude, but to the older guests at the manor, she’s just a loud-mouthed brat…
- Benedict 'Bones' Malone, The True-Crime Podcaster: Malone is a local celebrity in the law enforcement world—a former cop who now hosts 'Cold Case Chronicles.' He’s seen as a dogged pursuer of justice, though…
- Valentina 'The Velvet' Van-Dorn, The Fallen Socialite: Valentina is the 'last of the Van-Dorns.' She is seen as a tireless advocate for the manor's history. Most people think she’s Silas’s close friend, but she’s…

Questions
What kind of atmosphere can I expect when playing this adult murder mystery game?
Masquerade of Malice: Murder at Hollow Oak Manor is a high-tension Gothic thriller that transports players to a sprawling, Victorian-style cliffside mansion. As an immersive murder mystery game, it emphasizes a dark and sophisticated tone filled with secret passages and cobweb-covered libraries, making it the perfect murder mystery party theme for those who love suspense and a touch of the macabre.
Is 'Masquerade of Malice' suitable for a murder mystery dinner party?
Yes, this story is an ideal choice for a mystery dinner party. Set during a lavish Halloween party in a grand ballroom, the plot allows for natural breaks between courses to examine evidence like the sweet floral scent of the 'Witching Hour' nightshade or the forged letters found in the manor. It’s a premier murder mystery dinner party game that keeps guests engaged from the first course until the final unmasking.
How much acting is required to host this adult murder mystery party?
While you don't need to be a professional like Montgomery Moon, this adult murder mystery party encourages players to lean into their characters' sordid secrets. Whether you're playing the fraudulent mystic Alphonse Aris or the 'Goth-Pop' queen Ramona Reyes, the provided character details and public profiles make it easy for anyone to host a murder mystery party with confidence and flair.
What makes this story stand out from a standard murder mystery board game?
Unlike a generic murder mystery board game, 'Masquerade of Malice' offers a deep, narrative-driven experience centered on the 'Venom-Rose' formula and a scientific botanical murder. The use of red herrings, such as a broken prop dagger and secret seance rooms, provides a complex challenge for fans of thriller murder mystery parties who want a more sophisticated and memorable experience than a typical tabletop game.
How many guests can participate in this murder mystery party?
This specific murder mystery game kit is meticulously crafted for exactly 6 players, but can be expanded to support parties of up to 20 people (warning: Games can get quite confusing with more than 12 suspects). Each guest takes on a critical role—from the eccentric botanist Beatrix Bloom to the faded Hollywood star Montgomery Moon. This tight player count ensures that every character is a prime suspect, making it one of the best murder mystery games for an intimate night of deduction and deception.
How many people can play?
6 to 14 players. The 6 main characters are included for $29.95; add up to 8 more at $7.00 each ($43.95 for 8, $71.95 for 12, $85.95 for 14).
Can a large group play?
Yes. In large group mode some guests play the characters and everyone else joins detective teams, up to 200 people. Large group mode comes with a Non-profit or Business license.
Do I need to print anything?
No. Guests get their characters and clues on their phones, and the host runs each round, the accusations and the reveal from the Game Room, with narrator audio and a TV mode. A printable kit is included if you prefer paper.
How long does the game take?
About 2.5 hours, played over several rounds, usually alongside dinner or drinks.
How soon can I start?
Straight away. The game appears in My Games right after checkout, where you can send invitations and assign characters.
